Clinical Services with Dr. Ian Macnaughton

A Compassionate approach to Psychotherapy

With over five decades of clinical experience, my approach to psychotherapy has been developed through broad in-depth training and personal experience in various forms of mind, body and spirit theories and practices.

I work with individuals who are navigating the complexities of trauma, transition, and interpersonal dynamics — offering a space where clarity can emerge and deeper resilience can take shape.

A Philosophy of Integration and Presence

True psychological wellbeing arises not from treating isolated symptoms, but from understanding the systems in which we live — biological, relational, ancestral, and cultural.

My work is informed by a lifetime of inquiry — in clinical settings, in dialogue with colleagues, in somatic education, and through sustained inner practice. It is from this evolving ground that I offer support: clear, compassionate, and attuned to the unique unfolding of each individual’s path.

Training or Supervision

I’m available for further group training in the areas that inform my practice; which include Family systems, conflict dynamics, somatic psychotherapy, group dynamic, business transitioning, conflict resolution, communication and trauma.

“Ian Macnaughton is an eminent teacher of somatically-based psychology. With a clear, compassionate brilliance, Ian brings together a broad and deep understanding of psyche and spirit in the body. He offers to both beginning and advanced students the rare opportunity of authentic mentoring. I recommend Ian’s teaching and highly developed therapeutic skills. He has a rare gift of sensitivity and clarity which he shares freely and openly.”

— Peter Levine, Ph.D., founder of Ergos Institute of Somatic Education and author of Waking the Tiger
